The jam starts to break from the standard around 5:45 and by 7:25 has morphed into a good funky groove from which a jam on Deee Lite's "Groove Is In The Heart" emerges. Settles and > to "Piper."

Groovy version with a "Walk This Way" flavor and extended Trey shredding on the backend.

The Squirming Coil

Page shines throughout this single-set, free, outdoor gig, so it arrives as a bit of a surprise that it's Trey who steals the show during the course of this patient and serene encore. To be sure, Page's play is confident and assured, but Trey's late (7:00) play is as unusual as it is welcome, his tone wavy and his phrasing pushing, but not quite breaking, the bounds of the song proper. Excellent version.

Setlist notes

This was a single-set, free outdoor show. Twist included a Groove Is in the Heart jam with lyrics and GTBT included a Walk This Way tease. Sample and Hood contained more "worm" banter (from July 1, 1997 and July 2, 1997) with Trey saying "you're on the back of the worm!" Hood also contained Odd Couple theme teases from Mike. At the beginning of the Hood jam, Trey asked Chris to turn off the lights so that the band could see the mountains. Love You was played for the first time since December 8, 1995 (111 shows).
